In Honor of The Panthers 55th Year
We think that this educational process is necessary. It is the people that will cause the revolution, the people that will cause the change in the country.
Huey Newton
Today marks the 55th year since the formation of The Black Panther Party for Self-Defense by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale. Since its creation, The Party and what it stands for has been continually misrepresented, co-opted, infiltrated, and subject to amerikkka’s psychological warfare and propaganda campaigns. From J. Edgar Hoover’s declaration “the Black Panther Party, without question, represents the greatest threat to internal security of the country” to the Hollywood misrepresentations and cos-play by celebrities, “activists” and politicians; the true mission, vision and heart of The Party has been systematically skewed and shifted. It is with this understanding that we, the People, and Black (African) People specifically; must study and internalize who the Panthers were, what they stood for, and their stance on the needs of Black People inside the empire which is reflected in the 10 point program.
“We believe in an educational system that will give to our people a knowledge of self. If a man does not have knowledge of himself and his position in society and the world, then he has little chance to relate to anything else.”
